If you like, you can set a password for the app on your device, but…
WARNING! If you forget the password, there’s no way to get it back.
However, if you had a password set for the app but can’t recall it, you can still get back into the app by deleting it from your device and then reinstalling it using iTunes at no charge. (If you have previously backed up your data to the cloud, you will also be able to download the data you had saved there.) Before you do that though, be sure that you aren’t typoing your password or that the device isn’t auto-correcting it for you. Both of those are super easy to have happen, so enter the password one character at a time and watch as you are doing so to be sure the letters and numbers are appearing as intended.
Setting a Password (Optional)
- Tap Password on the Settings screen.
You will be taken to the Password screen.
- Tap On.
A new screen will appear.
- Tap New Password.
A keyboard will appear.
- Enter the desired password.
- Tap Confirm Password and enter the desired password again.
- Tap Done in the top right corner of the screen.
A message box will appear saying, “Are you sure you want to set a password? Lost passwords cannot be recovered, and your data will be inaccessible.”
- If you have changed your mind and do not want to set a password, tap Cancel twice. Otherwise, tap Done to set the password.
Note: Once you have set a password, a Change Password option will appear on the Settings screen. You can tap that option at any time to change your password to something else, or you can tap the Password option again to remove the password.
